Our Beliefs
What We Believe
Gateway Church is a spirit-filled church. We believe God has a perfect will for each and every one of our lives. We want to give you the tools you need to be a successful Christian. We believe that worship is an essential part of experiencing God's Wonderful Presence. In every service at Gateway Church we seek to have an encounter with God, and provide practical advice and direction, found in the Bible, to live a life that portrays God's love.
God
We believe in one God, revealed co-equally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten, not created, the Son of God, truly God, truly man, coequal with God the Father. He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and offered Himself a living sacrifice for the sins of the world by dying on the cross. He was resurrected to demonstrate His power over sin and death, ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every born-again Christian. He helps to conform us to the example Jesus Christ set with guidance in doing what is right, understanding the truth, and the power to live a sanctified life. We also believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to every born again Christian with the full range of spiritual gifts available to the body of Christ as Holy Spirit sees fit.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and are His words to us, about us, and for us. Our faith and teaching are entirely and solely based on the Bible!
Salvation
We believe that Jesus died on the cross and was raised from the dead so that we could be saved and have eternal life. We believe that salvation is believing in the heart that He died for our sins and rose again from the dead, confessing with the mouth that He is Lord and repenting of sins in sincerity as we ask Him into our hearts.
Water Baptism
We believe being baptized in water is a testimony to our faith in Jesus Christ, and is a symbol of the cleansing power of His blood.
Communion
We believe in taking communion to remember what Jesus did for us on the cross and to praise and honor Him for that sacrifice.
Personal Relationship
We believe every believer has a personal relationship with Jesus and should be growing that relationship by reading and obeying God's Word, praying, and giving praise to our Lord.
